Winter Activities 2004/2005


DINNER SLEIGH RIDE Embrace a beautiful Colorado winter night as a team of Belgian Draft horses pulls your sleigh through the woods and across a snow-covered valley to the enchantment of the Soda Creek Homesteads. The hearty home cooked meal includes fresh baked bread, hunter barley soup, 10-ounce cowboy steak or grilled chicken, garlic whipped potatoes, hot fruit pie, soda and hot chocolate. Groups of 30 or more are required to buyout the cabin or Yurt.

SCENIC SLEIGH RIDE Through the woods and across an open meadow, this delightful half-hour ride is to be experienced by all! Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate after the ride. A minimum of 10 people and maximum of 60 allowed per ride.

ICE SKATING Enjoy a leisurely afternoon or evening on the largest outdoor groomed ice rink in North America from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

SNOWMOBILE TOURS Experience backcountry touring in the spectacular terrain of the Continental Divide! Snowmobile suits and boots are provided for warmth and comfort during the two-hour guided tours. There is a maximum of two people per snowmobile. Drivers must be at least 15 years old with valid driver’s permit and at least 18 years old to carry a passenger. Private and group tours/packages available upon request.

DOG SLED TOURS Believe it or not you are the Musher. Your tour begins with the guides explaining the operations of the sleds and how to handle the beautiful Siberian Huskies. You will travel six miles through the Middle Fork of the Swan River. Maximum number this tour can handle is 12.

MASSAGE Indulge yourself with a relaxing massage or facial by a professional therapist from Healthspring Massage. 25 to 50 minute facials, and 25 to 80 minute massages available.

NORDIC SKIING Our cross-country trails will guide you into the beautiful Arapaho National Forest. Enjoy skiing on 29 kilometers of groomed and packed trails and 57 kilometer of backcountry trails. Telemark equipment and showshoes are also available for rental. The Nordic Center is open daily, 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

GONDOLA RIDE For those who would rather watch…our Gondolas are some of the best seats in the house. The Gondola rides are complimentary for dinner at the Outpost or Summit House.

FLY FISHING Enjoy a guided full or half-day fishing tour to nearby waters. Catch and release Brown, Brook, Cutthroat, and Rainbow Trout. All excursions include transportation, equipment and coaching.

FITNESS CENTER The Fitness Center is equipped with free weights, circuit weights, stair masters, stationary bikes, treadmills, two indoor jacuzzis, a wet sauna, dry sauna and an outdoor heated pool. Open Daily.

CHILDREN’S CENTER The Keystone Children’s Center, located in River Run Village and at the Mountain House Base Area, is a great convenience to guests with children. The Center is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day, and takes children as young as two months old. The Center separates children by age, and provides age appropriate activities and games. The ratio is one attendant to five children. Two snacks and one hot meal are served each day. Parents are required to drop the children off at the Center, and sign a waiver. DISCOVERY TUBING HILL The Discovery Tubing Hill is fun for kids and adults of all ages. Select your tube and slide down the slopes like never before. The Discovery Tubing Hill is located at the top of Dercum Mountain, off of Spring Dipper. Open weather dependent.
